Warehouse managers often choose shelving units for storing small materials and products in an orderly fashion. It goes without saying, providing all boxes, bins and crates with proper identification is essential. This is where our custom-made shelving labels come in.
What type of material do you choose for shelving labels?
Shelving units, small or large, are ideal for order picking. The flexible, modular nature of this type of racking enables quick and easy stock changes. However, a flexible layout might also mean you need to have some flexibilty in changing your shelving labels. One of the things you want to prevent is the costly and time-consuming work of having to remove old labels every three months and purchase new labels. When you use our label materials, you can save time and money.
Removable labels
Removable shelf labels are a cost-effective solution if you deal with frequent stock changes or stock additions.
The strong adhesive strength of this removable label material ensures the labels stay firmly in place. Not only that, but owing to the special type of adhesive, you can easily remove the labels after 10 years of use without leaving any residue of either the label or adhesive on the surface.
Moreover, you can reuse the shelving labels, so there is no need to invest in new rack labels.
Magnetic labels
Shelf racks made of metal or plate steel are ideal for using magnetic labels.
Magnets are a popular solution when the contents of shelving units change frequently. We adjust the size of the magnetic labels to fit your beams to ensure they stay put for a long time. Keep in mind, though, in busy warehouses with a high goods receipt and dispatch rate, small magnets are more susceptible to getting moved or knocked off the racks.

Place label here
If you want to be able to easily remove and replace barcode labels, our place label here label is the smart choice.
The place label here label, also known as "label adapter" or "placard holder", is a label with a permanent adhesive and a special topcoat. Any label material that is applied onto the place label here label transforms into a removable label material. This way you can use inexpensive paper labels for your order pick locations and shelving units, which you can easily remove again.

Permanent labels
When it comes to shelving labels with a permanent adhesive, you can choose either the regular polypropylene labels or two other options.
Do you work in a cold storage warehouse? Then we recommend the Freezer label material for your rack and shelf labels. This material can be applied at temperatures as low as -25ºC and can withstand operating temperatures as low as -55ºC.
When your shelf racks are covered in glue and label residue the Block Out labels are your material of choice. You place these labels over any existing labels and the special black background hides any underlying text or barcode.
Print your own shelving labels
Some warehouse managers prefer to print their own shelving labels, because e.g. the location numbering changes frequently and a new label needs to be printed quickly. If this is also the case in your warehouse, we recommend using magnetic strips. You can print these yourself with a thermal transfer printer or you can use a marker pen to write the location numbers onto them. Proceed by cutting the magnetic labels to size and you are good to go.
