Printing industrial labels

ONE2ID not only specialises in manufacturing label solutions for warehouse and logistical applications, our label experts also have extensive experience in designing labels for industrial applications. Each industrial sector has different requirements for both the label materials and the printer ribbons you use for printing your own industrial labels, for example Reach, RoHS, GHS/BS5609 or MH 16635 (N). Feel free to ask us for information about material best suited to your needs.

Have you visited our industrial label shop yet?

Especially for those among you who prefer printing their own industrial labels, we have created a label shop. In our label shop, you will find a wide range of label materials that comply with different industry regulations and standards. If you need help choosing a suitable material, you can search by label material, application or specific characteristics.

In addition, we offer a variety of matching printer ribbons, so you can be sure the printed information also complies with your application demands. Are you not sure which material is best suited to your application? Please contact one of our consultants.

Which label materials are available in our shop?

In our label shop, you will find commonly used label materials such as polyester, polypropylene, vinyl and paper in various sizes and colours. Each label material offers variations in, for example, adhesive strength or topcoat finish. We can also supply specialty materials such as polyolefin heatshrink sleeves for wire coding, polyurethane tags for cable marking or virtually untearable polyethylene hangtags.

ONE2ID metallised silver polyester labels for printing

Polyester

In addition to white and metallised polyester, we offer polyester label material specifically developed for use during surface treatments such as powder coating and wet painting. If instead you are looking for a durable type plate with a luxurious look, then our polyester raised labels might be the solution you need.

Polypropylene

Our polypropylene material is available with either a permanent or non-permanent adhesive. We recommend using the latter if you want to remove the labels after a certain period of time without leaving any residue behind, even after 10 years of use. Afterwards, you are able to reuse these removable labels.

Vinyl

Vinyl is a preferred material for label printing because of its high weather resistance and long shelf life. You can use vinyl wrap-around labels e.g. for cable and wire coding or for test tube identification.

Paper

Paper is the most cost-effective choice when you want to print your own labels. Combined with the right printer ribbon, you can print this material at high print speeds, allowing you to create your own LPN barcode labels, for instance.

For which applications do we sell industrial labels?

In our shop you will find a suitable label material for every industrial application. Our label materials are tailored to the most common requirements for industrial applications. These include heat resistance, weather resistance, chemical resistance and resistance to extremely low temperatures. Below are some examples of common applications.

We are also available to discuss with you which would be the right solution that will offer long-term benefits for your company. After all, it is not merely the label material that affects the lifespan of your labels, but also the adhesive, the printer ribbon and whether or not you use a protective laminate.

Printers, ribbons and software

Industrial labels generally need to have a longer lifespan as well as a good resistance to scratches, high temperatures or chemicals. You can only achieve this by using a thermal transfer printer to print your labels. Every single label material in our label shop can only be used in combination with a thermal transfer printer versus a direct thermal printer.

What is the difference between a direct thermal and a thermal transfer printer?

A thermal transfer printer uses a printer ribbon as opposed to a direct thermal printer. You can easily tell the difference in print between a thermal transfer printer and a thermal printer. A label printed with a direct thermal printer is not scratch-proof and the print fades over time as does the colour of the label. An example of a direct thermal label is your supermarket receipt. If you run your fingernail over the receipt, you will immediately see a scratch appear. If you ever find an old receipt from a few years ago at the bottom of a bag e.g., you will find the print to be almost illegible.

If you are not sure whether your printer is a direct thermal or thermal transfer printer, you can often find this information in the description of the type of printer. In the case of direct thermal the description contains the letter D (for direct thermal) whereas in the case of a thermal transfer printer you will the letter T in the type number.

For designing your own labels, we recommend Loftware’s user-friendly NiceLabel software. If you know your way around MS Word, this software should be no trouble at all. Pre-printed industrial labels

When you decide to print your own industrial labels you will have the labels on hand, whenever you need them. However, designing and printing your own labels can be a time-consuming task, especially if the labels have to contain a lot of different information, such as pictograms, barcodes, logos and serial numbers. If that is the case, you can also choose to outsource the label manufacturing to our experienced production team.

They will fully customise your pre-printed, industrial labels to include all the information you require. All you have to do is send us your database. We can also pre-print your labels in part in order for you to add the missing information yourself at a later stage.

Would you like to know more about ordering pre-printed labels or printing your own industrial labels? Our label specialist Anton Damen is happy to help. He is available to answer your questions to ensure you always end up with a suitable label material and printer ribbon for your labels.
